José Participates at ASBN 2022 Conference on Building a Regenerative, Just and Prosperous Economy

Speaks on ‘Resiliency Amid the Climate Emergency’ Panel & Leads Environmental Justice Tour of Barrio Logan

On Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, Just Transition Alliance Executive Director José Bravo, participated in a panel discussion hosted by the American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) during its 2022 conference, “Building a Regenerative, Just, and Prosperous Economy,” in Paradise Point, San Diego. José joined fellow luminaries Chéri Smith, Indigenous Energy Initiative; April De Simone, Trahan Architects; Seungah Jeong, MPOWERD, Inc.; and Michael Green, American Sustainable Business Network, Director of Climate & Energy Policy to speak on “Resiliency in the Face of the Climate Crisis.” Panel talked about how they’re tackling climate justice through energy access, community organizing and design.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, José also led ASBN conference attendees on an environmental justice tour of Barrio Logan, San Diego’s oldest Chicano neighborhood. José revealed the Mexica and Mexican history behind the murals at Chicano Park, a national landmark, and guided the group to Cesar Chavez Park to discuss the U.S. Navy’s environmental impacts on the community. Mr. Bravo’s tour covered city planning and zoning, gentrification, social justice, access to food and health care, and other topics related to environmental justice.
