On Nov. 12, 2025, the Global Campaign to Demand Climate Justice organized a press conference at COP30. JTA’s Nona Chai called for an institutional home for just transition in the UNFCCC. Nona was joined by the several speakers and organizations: Meena Raman, of Third World Network, Carola Mejia, of Latindadd, and Rachel Rose Jackson of Corporate Accountability. Sara Shaw, of Friends of the Earth International, moderated the panel. Together, panelists called out false solutions, including raising concerns about and rejecting the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, and demanded that there be collaboration, not competition, among Global North countries, to ensure accountability and to move toward transformative climate action and justice.
