The Just Transition Alliance has been a member of Coming Clean since 2015. Coming Clean is a nonprofit environmental health collaborative working to transform the chemical industry so it is no longer a source of harm, and to secure systemic changes that allow a safe chemical and clean energy economy to flourish. Coming Clean is made up of over 100 member organizations, with seven collaborative teams and initiatives.

One of these teams, The Campaign for Healthier Solutions (CHS), is coordinated by our very own José Bravo and Nona Chai. The campaign works to eliminate toxic chemicals from dollar store shelves and instead provide locally sourced foods and shelf stable products. CHS recently had a very successful National Day of Action launching their 2024 Product Testing Report ahead of Mother’s Day.

Coming Clean’s work is guided by the Louisville Charter. The Charter is a wonderful vision and shared roadmap for a healthy environment free from toxic chemicals and polluting industries for all. As endorsers of the Charter, Just Transition Alliance had the honor of attending Coming Clean’s General Strategy Meeting in July 2024 to realign on the principles and priorities of the Louisville Charter.

We applaud the important work that Coming Clean engages in and uplifts. JTA is grateful to be a part of this wonderful community as we together pursue environmental justice for all.
