On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, many environmental justice movement visionaries, who co-created the paths we learn from and move on today, were honored at the HBCU Climate Change Conference in New Orleans.
JTA’s José T. Bravo, “the Workers’ Champion,” was recognized at this event, along with many wonderful comrades who have fought so hard for so long. Thank you to these movement elders, including JTA board members Richard Moore and Thomas BK Goldtooth, for guiding us so wisely, persistently, and energetically over the years. Our work exists today because of them, and we continue to find great inspiration and strength from their examples and guidance. Don’t miss the conference’s Day 1 Highlight Video from this multi-day gathering to experience this historic celebration.
JTA expresses much appreciation to the HBCU Climate Change Conference, the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice, and the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice organizers for co-creating this beautiful event!
Toward environmental justice and just transition! ¡Hacia la justicia ambiental y la transición justa!
