Please join us in wishing our executive director José Bravo a very happy birthday!

José Bravo gives us hope. He’s a visionary who leads his staff to think of our work like growing lotus flowers from the muck: even though the conditions are tough, we can and will rise up to meet the challenge. For more than 20 years, José’s dedication to the environmental and economic justice movement has helped give rise to the Principles of Environmental Justice, the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing and a California without waste incineration. José’s guidance has been instrumental in shaping just transition, environmental justice and climate justice movements across Turtle Island.

We thank José for his steadfast commitment to amplifying the voices of workers, Indigenous peoples, and people of color and protecting everyday people from unwarranted toxic trespass.
