CFJWJ’s Co-Executive Director Chris Furino was one of the facilitators at this training last month.  We are grateful for this glowing report:

On May 16th, Central Florida Jobs with Justice was able to hold the Just Transition Alliance’s “Tools for Systemic Change Toward a People’s Economy” Training. It was the second time the training has been held in Central Florida and the first time piloting our updated curriculum. We were able to bring over 20 organizers from youth, community, and labor organizations together to talk about the Just Transition Framework, False Solutions to the Climate Crisis, and how they relate to the current campaigns we are working on collectively. Organizations like Florida Rising, Florida Immigrant Coalition, Sunrise Movement Orlando, Laborers International Union of North America, the Farmworker Association of Florida, Alianza for Progress, and Florida Student Power came together at the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Hall for this experience. We feel so excited about the takeaways and learnings participants left with and feel even more excited about the organizing and campaigning we’re doing together around incinerators, housing, and the energy industry moving forward.
